WorkShop

based on Raising Up Queens

For mothers and daughters ----
Guided discussions, sharing experiences, and controlled, postive venting of pent-up feelings. This workshop begins with a preamble addressed to both mothers and daughters. During the workshop, mothers and daughters will separate for a time long enough to define the issues that most concern them, then the two groups will come together for discussion and sharing.

Workbooks, featuring material for both mothers and daughters, will be used as tools for guiding workshop participants to a place of more effective communication, self-understanding, and mutual respect and understanding.

Both mothers and daughters will grow during this workshop. Participants should expect frank discussion and candid experiences.

This workshop invites women to talk about their personal experiences within a caring, healing circle of women, and provides opportunities for each woman to be celebrated for the life she has lived thus far, and the person she is on her way to becoming.
All WomanSpace Workshops are designed to encourage a new level of awareness on spiritual and emotional levels, to heighten self-esteem and to motivate women to recognize the power they have within to change their lives in a positive way.

Each workshop utilizes an accompanying workbook that features material discussed in the workshop sessions and guides participants as they do subsequent "self-work", alone. If desired, workshops can be offered, annually, to the same group of women to encourage a continuation of emotional and spiritual growth for each woman. All of the WomanSpace Workshops work well as foundation sessions for week-end retreats. All workshops end with a closing ceremony where each woman will receive a Certificate of Personal Growth that she has designed for herself.

All WomanSpace Workshops can be adapted to presentations over 6 weekly sessions, over a week-end retreat, or during a single three hour session.

I had a woman-centered childhood. All around me the most beautiful Real Women swarmed and fussed and tended and cleaned and sewed and did hair and talked and laughed and cried and prayed and sang. And all of my adult life I have tried to figure out how they grew to be as wonderful as they were.

Somehow these women took the essence of the raw experiences that life handed them and spun it into enough golden rope to pull up the children. And my secret prayer has always been to be as Strong, as Proud, as Loving, Capable, Orderly, Calm, and Real and Resilient and Beautiful and Present and Powerful as they.
